Tipping is un-American
I think I have my handful of favorite leading ladies from the Golden Age of Hollywood and Bette Davis has never been one of them. Whether or not it's from my not having seen many of her films or just not loving her, I'm not sure, but I watched The Petrified Forest for the first time last night (first movie of 2010). It was weird seeing her play a little bumpkin instead of an ice queen. I didn't love her in it, but the movie was pretty good, quick, and she was adorable (simultaneously looking 18 and 80):
Obligatory insane, elderly Bette Davis:
I also watched Man on Wire, which was a nice little treat.
